Reed,

       i passed my exam for chief c and i have a couple questions....with my GC license and boiler license what else do i need to perform repairs on boilers in a residential/multi unit complex..including start up and shut downs and also city required flu test??? to run correct venting in some cases also??

how do i get high pressure experience,,ie can i start with a 1 -B test and then get a waiver??

Todd,

Congratulations on passing your exam!  I'm glad we could help you out.  The Chief C license will allow you to operate and maintain any size low-pressure plant.  You can also be the supervisor of any size low-pressure plant. 

Unfortunately, the Chief C license does not do anything for you as far as high-pressure time is concerned.  I think it should, but we haven't made that happen yet.  You can run a very small high-pressure boiler (100 Hp or less) just like someone with a special license can, but you don't have any high-pressure experience that would be needed to take a high-pressure test.  You can also be the supervisor for an even smaller high-pressure plant (up to 50 Hp).

Oops, I really didn't answer all your questions.  Your boiler operations license covers boiler operations only.  anything that might be considered installation or alterations would need to be done using another license, normally a city license.
